Does Nativis Use only natural Ingredients in their product range?

We use only natural ingredients in all of our products. These are responsibly sourced from reputable suppliers and organic in nature wherever possible. To view the individual ingredients used for products in the Nativis range, please click here. By clicking on any of the products listed in the link, you will be directed to a page that gives all ingredients incorporated into that product.

Are any harsh chemicals (such as alcohols or parabens for example) incorporated into Nativis products or used in their manufacture?

No, we do not incorporate any harsh chemicals into our products and we use no harsh chemicals to extract the natural active ingredient, Silk Hydra-Fix®. Ingredient listings can be found for the individual products we offer on our website.

Are waste streams/energy usage significant at Nativis?

No, we have small levels of residual waste from our manufacturing processes. Effluent stream are extremely low (and biodegradable) and our energy requirements for manufacture are low. In fact our only significant waste stream is high grade, cruelty free silk!

Does Nativis incorporate any known irritants or environmentally harmful chemicals into their product range?

No, we do not include any known irritants or environmentally damaging ingredients into our products. Those chemicals we particularly reject into our formulations include parabens, phthalates, sodium lauryl sulphate (SLS), silicone and mineral oils or derivatives, alcohols, microplastics, dyes and colourants, nano-particles, retinoids and fragrances. We firmly believe that for skincare to be effective, known irritants must be avoided in skin/nail/hair care formulations.

Are the ingredients used in the Nativis skin and hair care range organic?

We strive to use organic ingredients wherever possible in our formulations. However for some ingredients this is not an option. Overall, we would estimate that our organic ingredients make up 50-70% of our formulation’s dependant on the product type.

Where are Nativis products manufactured?

All of our products have been developed in house in the UK. We also manufacture all of our products here in the UK. Manufacturing is not outsourced to third parties.

Is the packaging used for Nativis products recyclable?

Yes, we use Aluminium packaging for most of our products which is 100% recyclable. Dispensers are plastic but are of a recyclable type and grade. We ship using recyclable packaging materials.

Does Nativis provide refill options for repeat purchases?

Not yet although this is one of our priorities to further improve our commitment to reducing environmental impact and to reduce the cost of repeat purchases from Nativis. Most of the packaging that we use for our products can be reused and it is our intention to develop this environmentally friendly approach further in the future.

Are Nativis products cruelty free?

Yes, none of our products (or ingredients) are tested on animals. The silkworm cocoons that we use to produce our natural active ingredient (Silk Hydra-Fix®) are produced without harm to the silkworms. They are allowed to complete their life cycle. We have worked hard with our cocoon suppliers to ensure that the cocoons we use are cruelty free.

Does Nativis provide guidelines and directions for use of their products?

Yes, detailed guidelines are given for the correct use of our products for a wide range of skin, hair, ageing and beauty concerns. These can be found on our product/package listings and in the detailed information sheets that can be read/downloaded from our website.

Does Nativis supply travel size products?

Yes, Nativis provide a number of travel size products which include the moisturising cream and gel, shaving gel, hair gel, face serum and soaps.

Are Nativis Skin/hair/nail care products safe to use?

Yes. All of our products have passed stringent challenge and physical stability testing which is a requirement for legitimate commercialisation of water based skin/nail/hare care products. Silk Hydra-fix® (sericin) has been approved by the FDA as being safe for use for these applications. All of our skin care products are pH balanced (pH 6-7) so that they do not interrupt or disturb the natural barrier function of the skin. We do not incorporate any known irritants into our formulations. A full listing of ingredients is given for all formulations in the product pages of our website.

What is the shelf life of Nativis products?

All of our products have been given a shelf life of 2 years from the date of manufacture (DOM). Furthermore, our products have been given a Period After Opening (POA) of 12 months which means that after opening they should be safe to use for a period of 1 year.

Are our products suitable for vegetarians and vegans?

Our formulations are not vegan friendly but are suitable for vegetarians.

Our active ingredient, Silk Hydra-fix®, is derived from sericin which is produced by the silkworm to hold the cocoon together (it is a natural protein glue made from 18 Amino acids).

Are our products considered to be Halal?

Yes, the sericin is secreted from glands in the silkworm during cocoon construction without any transfer of silkworm DNA. This is also the case with the simultaneous production of the silk fibres which act as the reinforcing material in the cocoon.

What is Sericin?

Sericin is a natural protein that is extruded by the silkworm as it makes its cocoon. It is composed of a mixture of Amino acids, 60% of which are essential in nature (we require them for optimum body/skin function, but our body cannot produce them naturally). Our extraction process does not damage the sericin structure which in turn maximises its active nature towards relief from a wide range of skin conditions.

What Skin types are Nativis products suitable for?

Nativis Skincare products are designed to work effectively with all genders, skin colours and types. They can also be used at any age from 6 months+.

Can Nativis skincare products be used for everyday maintenance?

Yes, regular daily use will keep skin and hair at optimum hydration and moisturisation levels. Your skins barrier function will be strengthened with regular use which will help prevent breakouts of any potential skin conditions that you may be prone to. Morning and evening application will keep skin in a healthy, natural condition and reduce the potential for skin conditions to develop.

Can Nativis haircare products be used for everyday maintenance?

Yes, regular daily use will provide a range of benefits to hair condition. They will balance the natural oil levels in hair which can be severely disrupted by shampoo's and gels containing SLS (Sodium Lauryl Sulphate). Continued use of Nativis haircare products will leave the hair feeling stronger with more bounce and shine. They will facilitate easier brushing which will reduce breakage. They can also be used to straighten and style hair at low temperatures.

Are the directions Nativis give for use of skincare and haircare products proven to work?

Yes, we have developed the guidelines for use from many trials that have been conducted by Nativis over the last 6 years.

Are Nativis skincare products comedogenic (block skin pores) in nature?

No, our skincare products are non-comedogenic in nature. Most of our products are oil free and so will not contribute to the blockage of skin pores. Our Moisturising skin cream does contain natural oils (shea butter and argan oil) although these natural oils have been designated as non-comedogenic in nature.

Do Nativis soap products contain Sodium Lauryl Sulphate?

No, Nativis does not incorporate any synthetic foaming agents in our soap products. We use natural ingredients (castor oil and coconut oil) to provide a strong, cleansing lather that does not irritate or dry the skin and is suitable for use on hair and skin.

Do Nativis products hydrate the skin?

Yes, they are very effective at hydrating the skin deeply. This is because the amino acids in our formulations are readily accepted by the skin and carry with them many times their weight in water. This water hydrates the skin deeply facilitating natural bio-repair mechanisms to be activated.

Do Nativis products moisturise the skin?

Yes, the active ingredient in our products (Silk Hydra-Fix®) moisturises the skin at the surface to significantly slow down Trans Epidermal Water Loss (TEWL). Our active ingredient both hydrates deeply into the skin and prevents subsequent water loss from the surface, thereby maintaining an optimum level of hydration.

Where do we ship to currently?

Currently we ship to the UK and most EU countries. Please not that we do not ship to PO Boxes, BFPO, APO, FPO & DPO's.

What are our shipping charges?

Shipping charges are free within the UK for orders over £50. For orders up to £30 in the UK we charge £4.95. For orders between £30 - £50 in the UK, we charge £5.95 (to cover increased shipping and packaging costs).

Shipping costs to EU countries are £9.95 for orders over £60 and £14.95 for orders under £60.

What are our shipping timescales in the UK?

In the UK please allow 1-2 business working days for delivery after placement of order (Royal Mail 48 Hour Service). For Channel Islands/IOM please allow 3-4 business working days for delivery.

What are our shipping timescales for Europe?

For Europe, please allow 2-7 days for delivery (by courier) depending on the destination country.

Will Import duty need to be paid for orders from an EU country?

There will not be custom/import taxes applied to EU orders. Our deliveries to EU countries are shipped on a Delivery Duty Paid basis, which means we cover any import taxes. If you are contacted and asked to pay any taxes, please contact our customer support team via e-mail or telephone as soon as possible and we will help you further.

What do I do if I incorrectly enter the wrong address when placing an order?

If you have incorrectly entered your address when placing an order, please contact us straight away by email or telephone to provide us with the correct address. If contacting us by email then please use the following in the subject line: Urgent - Important Action required.

Order Issues

My order was damaged/broken when I received it. What should I do?

We are unable to offer refunds or replacement items where damage is minimal (such as scratches or small dents to packaging). However, if a product has become seriously damaged or has leaked from the packaging during transit, please send us a photo of the damaged item within 14 days of placing the order with us. Please send the photo to contact@nativisltd.com. We can then send a replacement item out to you or process a refund for the damaged item(s).

I received the wrong products or there was a product missing from my order. What should I do?

We take great care to ensure that every order is picked and packed correctly before shipment. However, occasionally we make mistakes and we will always work quickly to rectify such an occurrence. Please contact us by email at contact@nativisltd.com within 14 days of placing your order and send us a picture of the products received and the invoice which will be shipped with your order. Once we have received this we will ship out to you the missing or correct product that was ordered.

How do I add or remove items from the basket on your website?

My product container does not seem to be full. What should I do?

All of our products are weighed out individually to ensure that the exact (normally slightly over) amount has been added. Some of our bottles and jars are bigger than the volume of product added (often to accommodate dispensing units such as pumps/sprays). However, if you are still concerned that your container has been underfilled, please forward us a photo of the product indicating the fill level inside and we will try to help you further. Please send an email with the photo(s) attached to contact@nativisltd.com.

I did not receive an order email confirmation after placing an order with Nativis. What should I do?

If you did not receive your confirmation email after placing an order with Nativis, please first check your spam folder as it may have been directed there. If you still cannot find it we may have made a mistake in the email address we sent the confirmation email out to. It may also be an indication tha the order was not successfully placed. Cancellations

I would like to cancel my order. Is this possible?

We aim to process any order that we receive on the same day if the order is received before 4pm. We therefore cannot guarantee any order cancellation or amendments if we are contacted after this time. If you contact us by phone or email (details given below) and the order has not been processes/shipped, we will do our best to amend or cancel our order.

Can I return an order I have placed and receive a full refund?

You may return any new, unopened and unused products within 14 days after receipt of your order. Please contact us through the following channels and we will provide you with instructions on how to make a return to us:

Please note that you, the customer are responsible for returning the package and the associated shipping costs - we are unable to refund the cost of the return postage. We are also unable to cover the cost of any import taxes that may be due as a result of the return.

Once the products have been received back by Nativis and their condition checked, a full refund will be provided.
