Brittle Nails

Our nails are constantly exposed to wet and dry conditions. When wet, nails will swell as moisture is absorbed. When they dry out, they will shrink. If your hands or feet are in water a lot of the time and are exposed to harsh (drying) soaps or detergents, this constant change can dry out your nails and make them soft and easy to break. Ageing is another factor that can cause nails to become dry and brittle because as we age our nails tend to grow more slowly and we produce less of the natural oils that give our nails flexibility and resilience.

Artificial (Acrylic) nails can also be a cause of nails to become brittle. In order to bond artificial nails to our natural nail, the natural nail is filed down in order to provide bonding strength. This thins the nail and so weakens it as a result. The bonding glue used to attach the artificial nail also weakens the natural nail.

Here at Nativis, we have developed a cream that will restore the strength and resilience of our hand and toe nails. The cream is 100% natural in composition, and contains a natural active ingredient derived from Sericin which we have called Silk Hydra-Fix^©. This active ingredient will hydrate the nails and also moisturise them simultaneously to prevent loss of moisture. The cream also contains Argan oil, Shea Butter and Beeswax which will restore the oil balance in the nail and give a natural, healthy looking sheen to their surfaces. When used following the directions below, positive results should be observed after 5-7 days and should improve significantly with continued use.

Directions for Use - Hydrate and Moisturise the nails Massage a small quantity of the cream into the nail surface and cuticle morning and night. It can also be applied after cleaning/washing where harsh detergents/soaps are used regularly. Dry hands are also often experienced if harsh soaps and detergents are regularly used. The cream can also be used in a similar way to prevent the skin from drying out.

Repeat above procedure daily for best results. Improvements should be seen within 5-7 days with the nails becoming stronger and more resilient to brittleness and possible breakage.
